Our Recommendations

We get a lot of the same questions by email, so here's the advice we actually give customers, all in one place. Short version: sizing is mostly math, firmness is mostly personal preference, and if you're stuck, email us.

Disclaimer: you're responsible for picking your size. Everything here is a guide based on what you tell us.

1. Choosing your first sleeve

  • Pick the one you (and your partner) like the looks of best. The XL, Original and Slim versions of a model are all fairly close in size, so looks is a fair way to decide.
  • First sleeve? Aim for a sleeve girth between 6" and 6.5".
  • Good starter sleeves: Bourbon Saint Slim or Knee Buckler Mini. If you want a curve, try the Velvet Hook Slim.
  • Length: don't overthink it. We don't advise going more than 3" past your own length. Go further than that and you'll want at least a 00-30 shaft so it doesn't flop.
  • Solid head: every sleeve needs at least a 2" solid head, so your length decides which models can work for you. Check the max internal length on the size comparison chart.

2. Sizing: internal diameter (ID) and worn girth

Measure honestly. No "ego measuring." Adding a little to your numbers only gets you a sleeve that doesn't fit. For length, measure how much of your penis you actually want covered, not the biggest number you can get.

Measure your erect circumference with a flexible tape. Then use this table:

Erect circumference Sleeve ID
Under 4.50" 1.00"
4.50" – 5.00" 1.125"
5.00" – 5.50" 1.25"
5.50" – 6.00" 1.375"
6.00" – 6.50" 1.50"

Advanced guide (only if you can keep an erection while wearing a sleeve): (circumference ÷ 3.14) − 0.4. For example, (5.5 ÷ 3.14) − 0.4 = 1.352, so choose 1.375".

  • Between two internal diameter (ID) sizes? This applies only to choosing your ID. If you can keep a solid erection, go up to the larger ID. If not, the smaller ID is the safer pick.
  • A bigger ID means a smaller worn girth. Your ID choice makes a big difference to how thick the sleeve ends up when you wear it.
  • "Max girth" is the sleeve's shaft girth when nobody's wearing it. Once it's on, it gets thicker. Estimate the worn girth with our worn girth calculator, using the numbers from the size comparison chart.
  • Don't try to stretch a small ID over a bigger penis. You wouldn't put an 18" tire on a 20" rim.
  • Still not sure? Order a sizing sample and there's no guessing. Samples only test internal fit, not looks or worn girth.
  • Too thick for your partner? That's the outer girth, which comes from the model size (Slim, Original or XL). It isn't the ID or the density. Drop to the Slim of the same model.
  • Worried about bump-out? Getting the best-fitting ID is the best way to keep it to a minimum. If you carry more girth near the base, a tapered sleeve like the Straight Legger, Appleton Ace or Headliner helps.

3. Straight, curved, or fantasy

  • Browse straight sleeves, curved sleeves and fantasy sleeves.
  • For a slim straight sleeve, our picks are the Straight Legger Slim, Litigator Slim and Straight Shooter Slim.
  • Want a streamlined head? The Sharp Shooter Slim has a much smaller head than the Bootlegger. The Bootlegger is curved, with a slim shaft and a big head.
  • Your size doesn't usually limit your choice of shape. Any of them can work, including the Curved Gentleman.

4. Firmness (density)

This one is personal preference, and there's no single right answer. Here's our honest opinion:

  • Our go-to is a Soft (00-20) head with a Balanced (00-30) shaft. We think it's the best balance of realistic feel and support.
  • Extra Soft (00-10) is too soft for our taste. It's a bit "dead", meaning it's slow to bounce back after being squeezed. We don't do full sleeves in 00-10.
  • Firm (00-50) is as firm as we go. Some customers with mild ED have reported better results with a Firm shaft, but we don't make sleeves designed for ED.
  • Extra Soft (00-10) and Firm (00-50) can't be combined. We'll contact you if your order has that combination.
  • Apart from Firm, the difference between a 00-20 and a 00-30 shaft is pretty small. Firmness doesn't change how easy the sleeve is to put on.
  • If you want to feel the densities, pick up our silicone samples.

5. Colors and options

  • We don't paint anything. Dual density sleeves come in two colors: the head pour and the shaft pour. You can see where one density stops and the next begins. Single density sleeves are one solid color.
  • Our pigments are very concentrated, so every sleeve varies a little. We can't match a specific shade, a past order or a photo.
  • Simple requests are fine. Just add a comment to your order. See color options.
  • We advise against clear sleeves because tiny air bubbles show up.
  • The silicone samples are random pours, so don't judge colors by them. Use the Light and Tan product photos instead (the Midnight Rider and Velvet Hook pages show both).
  • All of our sleeves except the RoboNOVA now have our latest WillieSkin texture.
  • Can't wait? Browse Ready to Ship or order Made to Order. Need a sheath? See headless sheaths.

6. Putting it on, lube and care

  • Don't roll it on. Put lube on yourself, slide the sleeve on, then slide a finger in and push out any trapped air. We don't warranty tears that look like they came from rolling.
  • Any water-based lube will do. Avoid silicone lube, coconut oil and other oils.
  • Our preferred lube is Ride Japan Master Lotion: buy it here. It's a big bottle, too.
  • For cleaning, use any dish soap that breaks down oil easily. We use Dawn.

7. Quick FAQs

Can I get an option that isn't listed? No. The dropdowns show every option we offer. We don't mix silicones to get in-between densities like "00-40" because the results aren't consistent.

Do you make strap-ons, ball straps or sliding skin? No.
