A Beginner’s Guide to Choosing Your First Sleeve

A Beginner’s Guide to Choosing Your First Sleeve

From the Workbench of Mr. Slick Willies

So, you’re thinking about trying your first sleeve. First of all — welcome. You’ve got good taste. Whether you’re looking to spice things up, explore new sensations, or just want to see what all the fuss is about, this guide will help you avoid the junk and find something that actually feels good (and holds up after more than two uses).

🧪 Not All Sleeves Are Created Equal

Take a quick stroll through Amazon or AliExpress and you’ll find hundreds of sleeves that look… kind of the same. That’s because they are the same — mass-produced from mystery materials, often copied from other designs, and made for volume, not quality. They’re cheap for a reason:

  • Materials: Usually made with TPE or low-grade silicone, which breaks down over time or feels sticky and oily.
  • Fit & Finish: Often warped, uneven, or just plain uncomfortable.
  • Designs: Generic models, sometimes outright copies.

At Mr. Slick Willies, we don’t play that game.

🧼 What Makes Our Sleeves Different

Every sleeve we make is:

  • 100% Custom Designed: No stolen designs, no copycats — just original shapes sculpted by hand and tested for performance.
  • Hand-Poured in Platinum Silicone: The same body-safe material trusted by medical professionals. It’s durable, flexible, and non-porous.
  • Built to Order: Choose your internal depth, color, firmness, and more. We make each one based on your specs — not what’s sitting in a warehouse.

We’re not trying to be the biggest sleeve shop out there — just the best.

📏 What to Know Before You Buy

If you’re new to sleeves, here’s what to keep in mind:

1. Internal Length

This is the space inside the sleeve — not the total length. Most of our sleeves offer around 4.5" to 7" of internal tunnel space. If you're unsure, go a bit longer — you can always add an insert later.

2. Girth Matters

We offer a wide range of sizes, but start with something close to your natural girth for the most comfortable fit. Want a tighter grip? Let us know in your request.

Want an estimate on how girthy a sleeve will be when worn? Check out our Girth Calculator.

3. Firmness (Shore Hardness)

We typically recommend a softer head (like OO-10) and a firmer shaft (like OO-20) for realism. But every customer’s preference is different — and we’re happy to guide you.

🔧 Custom vs. Cookie Cutter

Let’s be blunt: if you’re spending $20 on a sleeve from a warehouse seller, you’re probably not getting anything close to what your body deserves.

Our sleeves are:

  • Molded to perfection
  • Poured with care
  • Tested for quality

And yeah — they’re a little pricier. But you’re not buying a toy. You’re buying craftsmanship.

🙋 Still Not Sure What to Pick?

That’s what we’re here for. You can always shoot us a message with what you’re looking for — we’ll point you in the right direction, no pushy sales pitch required. Whether it’s your first sleeve or your fifth, we want you to have something that fits, feels great, and lasts.
